If you’re eager to renovate the kitchen – but lack the time, budget or inclination to do all the leg work – coloured kitchen appliances can quickly transform the home from drab to fab.

Penelope Herbert, editor of the lifestyle blog StyleHunterHome, recommends being adventurous with colour. “It’s a personal thing, and often soft colours are the default position, but get adventurous with colour and reap stylish benefits. A strong, dark colour isn’t one people naturally think of in a kitchen but it can look rich and regal.

“When developing colourful kitchens you should also consider how much of one colour you want and decide on a hero piece,” she advises.

Using colour as a highlight in the kitchen is an easy way to embrace new trends and add a personal touch to a neutral palette. Black is certainly emerging as the new stainless and delivers a striking contrast to white bench tops.

Open plan kitchens have also become the heart of the home and an entertainment space that brings family, friends and food together. Coloured bench mixers, blenders and espresso machines can all become conversation starters positioned proudly on display.  Having an appliance that performs everyday tasks with style makes it less ‘everyday’.

Want to achieve a sophisticated or slightly more masculine look? The Breville black sesame and elderberry collections will make the bench pop. Busy families should seek out bold colours to stimulate the tastebuds and encourage everyone in the home to become dedicated, hands-on-foodies.

Discover the range of premium coloured appliances – from blenders and bench mixers to kettles, toasters, food processors, microwaves and more.
