Ingredients

  • 2 cups raw organic almonds
  • ¼ cup cacao powder
  • 1 tablespoon maca powder
  • 2 tablespoons pea protein powder
  • 1 tablespoon spiralina powder
  • Pinch sea salt
  • 2 tablespoons each, chia seed, sunflower seeds and pepita seed
  • 3 tablespoons  honey
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil, melted
  • 2-3 tablespoons almond milk or coconut water
  • Desiccated coconut for rolling

Sweet Dukkah

  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
  • ¼ cup lightly roasted  hazelnuts, roughly chopped
  • 2 tablespoons pepitas and sunflower seeds
  • 2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil, melted
  • 1 teaspoon honey

Method

  1. Place almonds into the Boss jug and pulse until roughly chopped (breadcrumb stage)
  2. Add the dry ingredients and pulse again until well combined.
  3. Add the honey, coconut oil and milk; using the blend setting, mix until well combined. Use the scraper as needed.
  4. Scrape mixture out into a bowl and roll into tablespoon size balls.  Coat in either desiccated coconut or sweet dukkah mixture.
  5. To make sweet dukkah, preheat oven to 200°C. Combine all ingredients and spread onto a baking tray lined with baking paper.  Bake in oven for 5-10 minutes or until golden.  Allow to cool then process in the Boss until finely chopped.

Hi have just watched the video of choc chia bliss balls. Recipe following seems to be labelled incorrectly...ie "coconut, blueberry and chocolate maca smoothie" although the ingredients are more to do with the bliss balls! Better check eh?

Hi Ruth, Sorry the ingredients were correct, we had just somehow got the title of another recipe in the list. We have fixed it now. Thanks for flagging it with us.

Hi, can't wait to try this recipe, but just wondered if the recipe works with a different oil than coconut. I need to avoid saturated fats so coconut oil is off the list (regardless of any possible other benefits). Thanks

    Hi Ren,
Tom recommends using macadamia nut oil then. You could also try a couple of pitted dates as they are quite sticky and will help bind too.

would I be able to make the bliss balls with my BBl605 blender or my kitchen wiz pro
    food processor, without damaging them?
    thanks

Hi Roz, yes you could make these in your kitchen whizz pro. The texture may not be quite as fine but will still work.
