Ingredients
- 4 eggs
- 2½ cups milk
- 200g unsalted butter, melted and cooled
- 3 cups self-raising flour
- 2 cups grated cheddar cheese
- 1/3 cup vegemite
Serve with baked beans
Method
- Place eggs, milk and butter in a large jug and whisk until well combined.
- Combine flour and half the cheese into a large mixing bowl and make a well in the centre.
- Carefully fold in egg milk mixture to form a smooth batter.
- Drop heaped teaspoons of vegemite into the batter and gently stir so that vegemite swirls through batter.
- Select CLASSIC waffle setting and dial up number 5 on the on browning control dial.
- Preheat until orange light flashes up and the word HEATING disappears.
- Using waffle dosing cup, pour ½ cup of batter into each waffle square. Close lid and cook for ¾ of the cooking time. Open lid and quickly sprinkle grated cheese evenly over the waffles. Close lid and continue cooking until timer has finished and ready beep has sounded 3 times.
- Repeat with remaining batter and serve topped with warm baked beans.
