Ingredients

  • 200g dark chocolate melts 125g butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1½ cups (375ml) full cream milk 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups (300g) plain flour
  • ¾ cup (165g) sugar
  • ¼ cup (30g) cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup (60g) choc bits

Serve with Honeycomb, broken into pieces, optional Ice cream, optional

Method

  1. Set up the Sear and Press Grill with the Waffle Plates. Select 180°C for the lower plate and 210°C for the upper plate. Press Start to preheat.
  2. Place the chocolate and butter in a microwave-safe bowl and heat on 100% power for 30 seconds. Stir continuously until chocolate and butter have melted and mixture is smooth. Set aside to cool slightly.
  3. Whisk eggs, milk and vanilla together in a large mixing bowl or jug, and stir through cooled chocolate mixture until smooth.
  4. Sift flour, cocoa powder and baking powder together in a large mixing bowl. Stir through sugar, salt and chocolate bits and make a well in the centre.
  5. Pour in egg mixture and whisk until mostly smooth with just a few lumps.
  6. Once Preheat has finished the green Ready light will illuminate. Add ½ cup of batter into each waffle square, spreading to the edges .. Close lid and cook until cooked through and dry to the touch. This will take approximately 3-4 minutes (recommended 3:30 minutes).
  7. Repeat with remaining batter. Serve with honeycomb and ice cream if desired.
